From September 13 to 29, 2024, the Techne Sphere, Leipzig, will host „Shifting Temple“ – a project by Alexander Klaubert and Colette Patterson. This temporary platform for interdisciplinary expression invites participants to engage with the collective and individual wounds of our time.
In a world marked by profound social and cultural upheaval, „Shifting Temple“ offers a space to confront these challenges on an emotional level and embark on a shared journey of healing. The foundation of the project is a reflection on social justice, trauma, and emancipation as a starting point for the development of an inclusive space, fostering connection and mutual understanding. Questions of identity and belonging serve as a basis for placing individual stories in a collective context.
The project is conceived as series of “Shifts”, transcending genre boundaries and providing accessible entry points to contemporary art. Visitors are invited to engage in dialogue with current societal issues, discover new artistic perspectives, and experience a space for reflection and exchange. The fusion of dance, performance, installation, and music creates a unique atmosphere that encourages both collective and individual engagement with the themes at hand.
For Leipzig „Shifting Temple“ represents an opportunity to position itself as a hub for interdisciplinary art forms and cultural exchange. The project contributes to the city’s cultural development by connecting local actors with international artists and fostering the long-term growth of artistic initiatives.
„Shifting Temple“ promises a profound and enriching experience, it invites visitors to embark on a journey, considering embodied economies of presence, dynamic processes, and reciprocal relations.
