Leipzig-based artist and DJ Valeska‘s sets and mixes are driven by an enthusiasm for ever-changing rhythmic structures, unheard sounds, vigorous stabs and kicks, and uneasy moods. On stage, Valeska‘s sets quickly shift from soft embraces to heavy hits. Her musical excursions she also undertook on tapes for Leipzig‘s Prepaid Records label and in radio shows for Retreat Radio, n10.as and Radio Alhara. She has curated several events at Leipzig’s Pracht and is currently in charge of the program at Aquarium e.V., founder of the event series swish and co-founder of rewind and the tape label Shell Tapes and also the DJ collective L1CK, which traces modern currents of club music.
